There’s so much going on in our world these days that blogging hasn’t been at the top of my list lately. I knew you were all probably missing me (ha!), so I thought I’d share some random thoughts on this lovely Thursday…..
I spent some time yesterday sorting through donations for my upcoming trip to Haiti. I’ve also been preparing Bible stories and crafts for the kids at the orphanage where we’ll be working. I could be wrong, but I think they’re going to have a GREAT time! I’m super excited about going…..3 weeks from today!

Some of my favorite moments lately are simple times spent with my boys. A couple of times recently we’ve had a spontaneous “happy hour date” after school. Did you know that four people can get drinks at Sonic between 2:00 & 4:00 for $2.19? That’s my kind of fun!

While going through the drive-thru at the bank, they decided to try to be cute in order to get suckers from the teller.
They quoted line after line from Penguins of Madagascar.

….and this one….
You probably had to be there, but it was hilarious! When they’re not making me bang my head against the wall, they are a joy…
I read THIS POST by Ann Voskamp this morning. If you’re a mom, you should read it. I’m so thankful that “grace stands in the gaps.”
Speaking of being a mom, Mother’s Day is Sunday, and I think my (big) boys are finally old enough to realize that they should be nice to me that day. I think. We’ll see. I’ll let you know how that goes. I told Brad that I bought my Mother’s Day gift at Target this morning. I’ve been wanting THIS purse, but I seriously can’t even begin to imagine paying $108 for a purse. I’m picky about my purse, though. It has to have certain pockets inside and out to make my life a little easier. When I found a slightly similar one on the clearance rack at Target today for $17 I snatched it up. That’s much more my speed. I’m excited that this is the first year I get to spend Mother’s Day with my THREE boys! (Last year was a special one, too!)
Well, I’d love to stay and chat more, but a little monkey is climbing on my back whispering something in my ear about going for a walk. It’s a beautiful day here (finally), so I think I’ll take him up on it!
