Yohannes and I ran a quick errand this morning, and on the way back home, we made a very impromptu visit to the zoo. The Memphis Zoo is a great one & it’s less than a mile from our house! We have a family membership, so I don’t feel like we’re wasting money if we go and only stay for an hour or two. I’m realizing that my time with Yohannes before he goes to school is passing quickly, and it was a good way to make some new memories and have fun together during the day while we can. Here are some of my phone photos :

Look fast & you’ll see that this monkey was really excited to see us! He was the first animal we visited, and we were quite impressed by his greeting!
This was probably the funniest part of the day. One of these monkeys tried to kick Yohannes….good thing the glass wall was there!
Yohannes had never seen the panda exhibit before and we had fun watching this little guy (or girl?) eat lunch….
I don’t believe in reincarnation, but if I did, I might want to come back as a sea lion. They look so peaceful and they get to listen to that music all day!
Today was a good reminder that it’s a good idea to seize the moment and make some memories when you can. There are still dishes from breakfast in the sink, none of the beds are made, and I haven’t even had a shower. BUT, I don’t even care because sometimes it’s good to let that stuff just wait. Hey, it’s not going anywhere, right?! (With that being said, I AM off to shower now….some things can wait longer than others – if you know what I mean…)
