{give thanks: burlap banner}

It’s a cloudy, rainy day here in Memphis, and I think that sometimes rainy days are the best.  It’s been so nice to have a day at home, and I’m excited about the pot of homemade vegetable soup on the stove and my Parenthood couch date night with Brad after the kids are in the bed!

A couple of weeks ago I bought some burlap at the fabric store.  I had seen a lot of burlap craft projects on Pinterest, and I wanted to do something burlap-ish for our house.  Today I finally got around to brainstorming, and this is what I came up with…..

I cut pennant shapes out of the burlap, printed “G I V E T H A N K S”  onto cardstock, and then painted the letters onto the burlap with black paint (I put the cardstock directly under the pennants & “traced” the letters).  I just used the handy hot glue gun to glue the burlap pieces to some hemp cord…..and VOILA!  I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and it makes me smile every time I walk into the living room and see it hanging above the mantel!
